2007, NYC MarathonI started this project with a vague idea of what I wanted to photograph. I was really hoping that once I got to the marathon there would be some spark of inspiration that would start me off. One of the first spots that I stood in for about half an hour to an hour was on the side lines in Central Park. Observing the people interact with the racers, I tried to find people who stuck out and capture what they were doing and that's how I came upon this shot. Another photographer shooting the marathon. He was very engrossed with the race and I loved how he would really track the runners as they passed by. This picture is ironic in quite a few ways.

Though I'm biased for loving anything to do with running and thus probably over appreciate how you captured the runner, I really do appreciate the ironies and self-examination of your studies in this picture. It means so much to capture another photographer this way. I like how he seems to be the only one interested in the runner in this picture out of the crowd, it singles him out even though he's in the background.
this is a shot that really shows depth of field, not only that, the contrast is pretty good as well. Whats interesting about this shot is how the main focus of the event were the runners, but somehow you captured the main point of this project and captured a photohrapher, someone is constantly behind the scenes. Through ur use of depth of field, you really made the photographer the most important focal point of the picture and set aside the runner. good job
My favorite photo taken in the whole class...just the composition...the framing...the image of the other photographer trying to get his own great shot. I also love that you decided to do black and white instead of color...somehow I feel color would take away from the intensity of the photo.
This picture is great, by far one of the best shots from the entire class this semester. the timing the black and white the position of everyone is just perfect. i love this picture!
I have to agree with everyone! this shot really is great! the main focus is on the photographer but at the same time the runner is right there in your face. I really don't think anything could have been done differently to make this shot better than what it is...
I love this picture. It really is a perfect picture, the timing, placement, lighting and most of all the black and white. By far my favorite photo i have seen this year.
